Puttur, Apr 3: In a case involving the kidnap of small boy, his father has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
Amir is the name of the person arrested.
As per details, Amir with some of his accomplices went in a Scorpio car to a house at Kukkaje in Uppinangadi and kidnapped Mohammed Dilwat, his own son who was playing outside on March 27.
Safina, mother of Dilwat complained at Uppinangady police station regarding the kidnap. But the police failed to arrest Amir. Safina had called a press conference in Puttur some days back complaining about the slow progress in the case. As per some reports, the police were pursuing the case and had already started investigations and had kept an eye on the movements of the accused.
On Thursday April 2, Amir came to Uppinangady police station with his kidnapped son Dilwat and surrendered himself. Police arrested Amir and presented him to the magistrate with Dilwat. The magistrate sent Amir to judicial custody and Dilwat was sent to child care.
An accomplice of Amir named Hassan Sadiq was arrested earlier and was also sent to judicial custody.
Safina who was married to Amir had left husband’s house and was staying with Dilwat at her maternal house citing harassment from husband. She worked as a teacher in a local school. Dilwat studies in first standard.
