Mumbai, Mar 30: 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' has indeed proved its 'dum' with steadily increasing earnings right into its fifth week. On its fifth weekend in theatres, the movie has pocketed Rs 1.13 crores. This is the highest fifth week earnings of the year.

Having spread through word of mouth the movie attracted more footfalls in the weekends after its release on the 27th of February, 2015. It had started off with a meagre Rs. 21 lakhs, and then gone from strength to strength with Rs. 42 lakhs, Rs 50 lakhs, and Rs. 1.13 crores last weekend. The movie has till date earned close to Rs 30 crores, nationally and overseas.

Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar have been lauded immensely for their work in the movie. Ayushmann Khurana will soon resuming shooting for Agra Ka Daabra, while his movie Hawaizaade failed to garner much attention at the box office. Dum Laga ke Haisha in the meantime continues to entertain its audiences and just might earn some more this weekend as there no more fresh releases hitting theatres.

It is praiseworthy that the casting of an actress who breaks the mould with an overweight persona has managed to not only capture hearts but most importantly has been recognised for her work rather than her figure in the movie.
