The arrested persons are Jamaluddin (20) and Mohammed Ali (28) from Thokur Haleyangady, Taushif (28), Sharif (43) and Abdul Aziz (23) from K S Rao Nagara, Shakir (24) from Bappanadu, Mussafa (26) from Kilpady and Safwan (19) from Darga Road Mulky.

In a complaint filed in Mulky police station on Saturday March 28, parents of an eighth standard student of a school in Karnad near Mulky had said that their son was abducted from his hostel and assaulted near Dargah Road here.

A gang comprising about 20 youth had abducted the boy from his hostel on Saturday afternoon and beat him up later. The reason for the assault was that the eighth standard boy had become friendly with a girl from his class and used to converse with her often. On the day of the assault, the boy is said to have asked the girl as to why she was crying in the class.

The boy in question, Manjunath stays in the hostel near Karnad telephone exchange meant for backward classes and attends school at Karnad.

Some more persons of the gang which abducted and assaulted the boy, have been still absconding and the police are on the look out for them.

Indians have forgotten the values on which the whole India is built. Western people still have better law which can at least punish the culprits whoever he may be. But here only the poor will go to jail. rich wont. So don't compare west with India. Our law is of 1947 but the crimes are so advanced and the law is toothless and nobody wants to change it because every politician is using that law for his benefit. Basic human values are not respected especially by so called educated. Educated people are the threat for India.Students are involved in murders gang wars, sex for money, abduction, kidnaps are learnt in colleges. Nobody can save

    Elroy,

Its not the case like indians have forgotten the values but indians never had the values of a democracy in the first place. Indians fought for freedom but they really didnt know what freedom really means. Majority of indians were slaves and we still carry this slave mentality. How else do you explain the people treating the politicians as demi gods.

Currently our politicians have created an environment were there is a communal disharmony. They have done this for their political advantage. There exist too much communal tension these days. Some of the people i used to know are speaking ill of other community in a way they would have never spoken 15 years ago.

Mr. Shanker, why are you so eager to behead the accused in Mulky case whereas you are supporting sangh terrorists for whatever they do. Why are you following double standard. If some one do it is called balatkaar and if sangh terrorists do it is called chamatkar. Sangh terrorists have damaged a lot and looted many people, and you are supporting them.

All the arrested abductors should be thoroughly inquired since they seem to have criminal and extreme fanatic thinking which is a threat to our Society. Religion should not come in the way when there is a threat to the secular fabric of our country in its true sense.

We all mangaloreans should unite against evil and violators of law, not against each other. Good or bad happens only by action and reaction. Please dont spread hatred lets not judge anyone. Leave it to law and order to take charge.

We should not be surprised at the increase of violence in our city and country. We have always wanted to be rich and powerful like the western nations. We have imported their money and technology, but we did not understand that we have also imported their values, violence and crime. One has only to look at the increase of sex, crime and violence on the television and in our films. It seems that our country is descending into the same chaos and destruction as the west.
The USA has almost one percent of their population in prison, and almost 3% under jurisdiction of courts and prisons. We could never place that percentage of the billion Indian population under restraint for crimes. We'll never have enough jails or prisons. Thus the thugs and criminal population will be increase even more inside of our cities and the police will be even more out manned.

IGP of Western Range Mr Amrit Pal just told on 21st March that moral policing will not be tolerated in his jurisdiction at any cost.
But within only eight days there are four cases of moral policing. Two by Hindu Organizations, one by Muslims and one by Police themselves at Maroli Homestay.
Mr. IGP what is your reaction to these incidents of moral policing.
