Mangaluru, Mar 27: Based on a tip-off, police raided a party at a home stay at Maroli here late night on Thursday March 27 and detained eight boys and four girls.
It is learnt that the group of boys and girls from Bengaluru had booked the home stay and announced the party on a website.
Sources said that the group of youngsters had a party on the night of Wednesday March 25 too at the same home stay, which had continued till early hours of the morning with loud music. On Thursday night when the party went on till late, the locals informed the police and a few activists from a right-wing group also gathered.
Based on the complaint, the police raided the spot late night. The gate of the home stay was found to be locked and they had to jump over the compound. An elderly man opened the door, and the party was found to be going on in the top floor of the house, sources said.
The police personnel, including a lady officer, spoke to the youngsters for about two hours, and later, after the arrival of circle inspector Pramod, the boys and girls were taken to the police station separately.
No case has been registered. Police sources said that the youngsters were let off after questioning.
