Udupi: Electronic items worth Rs 8 lac stolen at Kinnimulky

Udupi, Mar 23: Thieves broke into an electronics wholesale store at Kinnimulky here and decamped with items worth Rs 8 lac. The incident came to light on Monday March 23.

The theft was reported at Sithara Enterprises owned by Prabhakar Kalmady.

It is learnt that the owner had locked the store on Saturday March 21 night and gone home. The theft was discovered on Monday when he came to open the store.

The thieves gained entry by breaking open the shutters and the main door using an axo blade, sources said.

As many as 700 pieces of electrical iron, three monitors, a gas stove, a laptop and a mobile phone, altogether worth Rs 8 lac, were stolen.

Udupi circle inspector Srikanth Rao and other officials arrived at the spot along with fingerprint experts and conducted investigation.

It is learnt that a watchman at an apartment in the vicinity had heard some noise during the night, but when he tried to find out the source of the noise, he could detect nothing.

A case has been registered in Udupi rural police station.

    These kind of theft cases continues since few years and police can not trace such theft cases cause influx of migrants. Konkan Railway is very helpful to catch first train after loot to reach their destination. I request to Local populace keep an eye on them.

    There is so much hype being created with regard to CCTV camaras, but the culprits go scot free even though the images recorded in CCTV are very clear e.g Gang Rape of Kolkota Nun case, Bangalore ATM attacker etc. Are we promoting CCTV manufacturing companies?

    Which world are you in? Why are you over estimating our smart police they cannot catch a fly. Cattle and illegal trafficking is caught by the Moral police and our smart police is only there to take them to nearest police station. What a brave police force.

    If there was a CC TV camera they (SITHARA) would have lost another 25000/- more and same cctv camera would have sold in market for 10000/-
    they are Indian robbers will not leave anything related to them....
