Mumbai, Mar 19: Dum Laga Ke Haisha (DLKH) with its small budget but interesting story line seems to have caught enough attention to invite more footfalls into its theatres, thereby earning up to Rs 25crores in total.
The YRF production is focused on telling a story that for once doesn't conform to the stereotypical perfect bodied people as most films are wont to do. This reason, added to the fact that the story itself is a very engaging one has proved an indomitable combination in its favour. The film has not just made money but has also gotten positive reviews , most of which are about the lead couple's brilliant performance.
Big names in the Hindi film industry too were bowled over by the story and the performances showcased in the film and have waxed lyrical for a while now. Critic and trade analyst Taran Adarch proclaimed the movie a HIT in his tweets, saying, “#DumLagaKeHaisha [Week 3] Fri 62 lacs, Sat 1.15 cr, Sun 1.50 cr, Mon 48 lacs, Tue 48 lacs, Wed 45 lacs. Grand total – 25.26 cr. HIT.”
Directed by Sharat Katariya this husband-wife tale is set and shot in Haridwar and is now known for ensnaring all who trek to the theatres to watch it.
