Puttur: Serial accident at Uppinangady - Youth dead, five injured

Puttur, Mar 18: A youngster died and five others were injured in a serial accident at Uppinangady late night on Tuesday March 17.

The accident occured when an Omni van hit a Honda Activa scooter and then rammed into a bike on NH 75 at around 10.45 pm. The accident occured near a bridge.

Arfaan (20), who was riding pillion on Honda Access, died on the spot. Mustafa who was riding the scooter was injured.

Razak and Ismail who was on the bike, and Umesh and Priyanka who were in the Omni, also sustained injuries. All the five injured have been admitted to hospital.

They were all travelling from Nekkilady towards Nellyady when the accident took place.

A case has been registered in Puttur traffic police station.

    Everyday the number of accidents increasing in manglore..mainly the death rate more in youth.. as per previous survey highest death is between 18 to 25 years age group.I clearly agree with josssey Saldhana. There should be speed breakers and speed limit.. if you exceed the speed there shold be some amount if fine.. may be then the accidents rates will cone down.. feeling hopefully..

    Install speed breakers every 100 meters, now let them drive at 120 kmph ...

    Auto accident are a daily occurrence and unless the Government comes down heavily on the erring drivers these accidents and deaths will continue.

    It is time that all who are responsible for the accidents are pulled up and after the trial they are asked to go through A COURSE IN SAFE DRIVING.

    I believe Mangalore is one of the WORLD highest accident place in the world. I DONT understand traffic controlling this situation badly. PEOPLE ARE dieing every single day. THIS IS NOT JOKE. TRAFFICE open eyes do something.
