New Delhi, March 13 (IANS): Following the convincing 10-0 win over Singapore in the quarterfinals on Thursday, World No.13 India are all set to take on Thailand in the women's Hockey World League (HWL) Round 2 semifinal at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here on Saturday.
Having won all four matches they have played till now, India will look for another win to qualify for the final to be played on Sunday. In their previous encounter against Thailand, India had routed them 6-0.
"I am really happy of the fact that we have won all the matches played till now. This has made us even more confident of playing the matches ahead. With a record of defeating Ghana and Singapore with a huge goal margin 13-0 and 10-0, respectively, the girls aim to repeat the instance and make it to the final," said India captain Ritu Rani.
"We aim for a better penalty corner conversion rate and make our attack even stronger against Thailand. We will look to carry out our strategies in high detail and structure as we anticipate an intense clash against Thailand."
Malaysia will take on Poland in the other semi-final. The top two teams qualify for the HWL Semifinals.
Singapore, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ghana will play the 5-8 classification matches.
