Mangaluru: Ola taxi service comes to city, promises efficient transport

Mangaluru, Mar 6: Leading taxi service company Ola on Friday March 6 officially launched its services in Mangaluru at an event held in Gold Finch Hotel here.

Addressing the media, head of Ola Mangaluru operations, Sadhanandhan N briefed about Ola's services in the city. "We are excited to launch our services in Mangaluru. This is a very important business destination in Karnataka. We want to ensure that commuters in this city have access to predictable and dependable technology-based services like Ola. The convenience and safety that service offers is unparalleled.

"Our experience in Bengaluru and Mysuru has given us in-depth understanding of commuters' needs and we aim to use this understanding to provide efficient transport to commuters in Mangaluru," he added.

"Ola has over 125 cabs signed up in Mangaluru and plans to increase the number of cabs on its platform to 500 within the next six months. Ola's focus over the next one year is to create an eco-system to nurture micro entrepreneurship among drivers in existing as well as new cities," he said

"Ola's app for drivers enables them to get bookings closer to their current location. This intelligent system of allocating customers to drivers helps reduce the number of dry runs and increase the number of pickups resulting in significantly higher revenues for drivers," he added.

    Good news. Per kilometer charge is Rs. 2/- less than fixed for autos in the city. Cars running cheaper than autos! Welcome OLA and boycott greedy autos in the city. Have a nice drive. God has already gave them his share by increasing the fuel price while they were taking pains to fix the minimum fare at Rs. 23/-.Let us too teach them a lesson.

    PLEASE START THIS OLA COMPANY IN AIRPORTS AND RAILWAY STATIONS. BECAUSE, IN NOV 2014 I BOOKED A TAXI FROM MANGALORE AIRPORT. THEY GAVE ME THE BILL AND TO LOOK FOR THE NUMBER OF THE TAXI WHICH IS MENTIONED IN THE BILL. AFTER I BOARDED THE TAXI INITIALLY EVERYTHING WAS FINE. AND AFTER SOME TIMES THE DRIVER OF THE TAXI STARTED TO EXPLAIN HIS STORY TO ME. HE STARTED TELLING ME ABOUT HIS DIFFICULTIES, SO THAT I MUST PAY HIM EXTRA MONEY. WHEN I REFUSED TO PAY HE STARTED TALKING TO ME YOU PEOPLE COMING FROM ABROAD MUST HELP POOR PEOPLE. I TOLD HIM ABROAD MONEY IS NOT GROWING ON TREES. WE ARE STRUGGLING MORE THAN YOU TO EARN MONEY, BY SACRIFICING EVERYTHING.

    Ola cabs giving customers excellent service in our doorstep. For the first time I travelled from mangalore to airport. At right time pick up and . Charges less than 50% compare to our normal city and airport taxis. Charges are directly messaged to your mobile number and no cheating.I request all commuters to utilize these services.

    This is the welcome move by the concerned for the smooth and tension free travel.Now no need to bargain,fight with auto drivers,city bus drivers/conductors.This move definitely bring down the rude behaviour,reckless driving to great extent.Always there should be a competition,monopoly should be broken.Then only common people can heave a sigh of relief and survive.More such competitive services should be implemented in the best interest of the public.But fare should be always fair and reasonable,within the reach of the common people.I hail this move of Ola Taxi service in our beautiful city Mangaluru.Hats off to OLA service.NOW NO JANJANAHAT,NO BARGAIN,NEGOTIATION,QUARREL,FIGHTING,MONOPOLY,AUTOCRACY.With the introduction of more such services will allow common people to live peacefully.Dependable,reliable and genuine service I believe.But we have to watch and see the services of OLA taxi service.

    welcome to new Taxi Service.well besides introducing new taxi Service,was also better to give the telephone no.and where it is available also,for People not having Apps,and modern smartphones.By the way do we not have enough local Taxis?and do we Need extra Autos on the road?is it not a bit of taking off the bread from locals who are struggling to live with ?I wish from the new taxi Service the 100%security of women and not to prell passengers as some do.Then we have nothing against who want to servive.

    Today we traveled by Ola Taxi and are surprised at the reasonable fare charged for good and efficient service. Fare worked out cheaper than the fare we pay for rickshaw !!! We are also pleased at the availability of the service 24 hours a day. Service is providing livelihood to the sincere workers. Now it depends on the workers that sincerity works ! We wish these young entrepreneurs a grand success!!
