Birmingham, March 6 (IANS): India's H.S. Prannoy lost his men's singles second round to local shuttler Rajiv Ouseph at the $500,000 All England Open Badminton Championships at the Barclaycard Arena here.
In Thursday's battle that lasted an hour and 12 minutes, Ouseph came out on top to win 17-21, 21-19, 21-18 in the first Super Series Premier of the year.
Later, Indonesians Gideon Markus Fernaldi and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo took care of Indian pair Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy in the men's doubles pre quarter-finals, to win 21-13, 19-21, 21-15 in 44 minutes.
The only Indian alive in the tournament is third seed Saina Nehwal who will play her women's singles quarter-final later in the day against Chinese Yihan Wang.
