Bengaluru, Feb 16 (DHNS): After vacating the party office on Race Course Road near Anand Rao Circle as per court order, JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda on Sunday said he will strive to strengthen the party by bringing back leaders who left it in the past.
Addressing reporters before vacating the office building, he said he will personally talk to such leaders and bring them back to the party. “Some leaders left the party in pursuit of power. There are some who left because they were hurt for some reasons. I will strive to bring them back in order to add more strength to the party,” he stated.
Gowda oversaw the work to vacate the building “Congress House” which housed
the JD(S) office for several years.
Temporary arrangement
The JD(S) will henceforth function from the nearby Mourya Hotel. But it is only a temporary arrangement and the new office building will be constructed as and when a plot is finalised.
Most of the office documents and furniture were shifted to godowns owned by the party workers in Bengaluru. The State Congress recently won a case pertaining to the ownership of the building.
Further, Gowda said he will also hold talks with the party leaders who have distanced themselves from the party and iron out differences, if any. “I alone cannot strengthen the party. I am not upset with anybody. I hope I have the support of all MLAs, MLCs, MPs in this task,” he added.
The former prime minister said possession of the building “Congress House” will be handed over to KPCC president G Parameshwara on Monday. “This is my last visit to Congress Bhavan. The question of my shedding tears does not arise,” he stated.
