Kuwait, Jan 3:  Abbasiya families - Kuwait held the New Year celebration for its members and their families on January 1 in the mass auditorium.

Compere Rony Fernandes welcomed the guests and Lavina Furtado led the prayer. Young talented children presented a melodious new year's song which was composed by Gladys Noronha.

New Year’s message was meaningfully given Gladys. Lancy Mendonca wished the guests a bright future for the New Year.

The event featured Indian and Western dances by talented children of Abbasiya, who won the hearts of everyone with their stunning performance. The game of tombola and spot games with lots of prizes added to the spirit of the get-together.

DJ Sonia kept the audience dancing to the tune of latest hit dance numbers. Jaya proposed a vote of thanks, which was followed by a community meal, shared in by a large gathering present.

The organizers  Monthu Furtado, Gladys Noronha, John Tauro, Rony Fernandes, Rafael Quadras, Vincent Noronha, Norbert D'Souza and Maxim D'Souza took the lead which inspired everyone to gather under the banner of "Abbasiya families- Kuwait" which is widely known for its unity.
