Chennai, Jan 28 (IANS): Actor-singer Remya Nambeesan, who has been waiting to play a rural character since "Kullanari Kootam", was glad to have landed an opportunity to play one such role in upcoming Tamil comedy "Naalu Polisum Nalla Irundha Oorum".
"The last time I played a village-based role was in 'Kullanari Kootam'. Since then, I've waited for a good opportunity to take up similar role. When director Srikrishna offered me the role of a school teacher in a village, I gladly accepted it," Remya told IANS.
Last seen in Tamil comedy "Damaal Dumeel", Remya is paired with Arulnithi in "Naalu Polisuma".
"I was initially little worried to work with Arulnithi as he comes from a reputed cinema family. But all that changed as I started working with him," she said.
Heaping praise on the director, Remya added: "He's a promising director with lot of talent and conviction."
Remya usually sings at least one song in her films, but it didn't happen this time.
"I haven't sung in this film. I was busy with a few concerts in Kerala. If time permits, I may soon perform in Chennai as well," she said.
