India's Noyonita Lodh out of Miss Universe race

Miami, Jan 26 (IANS): Noyonita Lodh, India's contender for the Miss Universe title, failed to reach the Top 10 in the contest here Sunday night.

Bangalore girl Noyonita, 21, managed to reach the Top 15 at the 63rd edition of the pageant where contestants from 88 countries are participating.

Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler from Venezuela will crown her successor at the end of the pageant here in Florida.

It was in 2000 when now Bollywood actress Lara Dutta won the Miss Universe title for India.

The judges of the pageant are actor William Levy, Grammy winner musician and producer Emilio Estefan, footballer Desean Jackson, baseball player Giancarlos Cruz-Michael Stanton and boxer Manny Pacquiao.

The Colombian fashion-journalist Nina Garcia, "The Hills" star Kristin Cavallari, fashion guru Louise Roe and "Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills" star Lisa Vanderpump are also part of the panel.

Some of the highpoints of this year's Miss Universe are that the winner will also be the first to wear a new crown, created by Diamonds International Corporation (D.I.C) and a question will be asked from the audience in addition to the judges round.
