Asian Cup's 85-year no-draw record broken

Sydney, Jan 19 (IANS): The 2015 Asian Cup has broken an 85-year record, posting the highest number of matches without a draw at a major football tournament.

Each of the Asian Cup's group games, 20 so far, has produced a winner in the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) show-piece tournament, reports Xinhua.

In the 1930 FIFA World Cup, 18 consecutive matches finished with decisive results.

China won 2-1 win against North Korea and in the record-breaking 20th match Uzbekistan beat Saudi Arabia 3-1 Sunday to set a new mark.
