Udupi, Jan 18: Deputy commissioner of the district, Dr R Vishal, called upon brilliant youngsters of the district to appear for competitive examinations, enter civil services and use the opportunity to serve the society. He said that by developing competitive mindset, the youth can fortify their skills and personality, and in turn, bring development in the society.
He was speaking after inaugurating a day's workshop regarding preparing for KAS and IAS examinations, held on Saturday January 17 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hall of Rajatadri, under the aegis of district administration and city central library.
District superintendent of police, Annamalai, who was the chief guest at the function, also called upon the young aspirants from the region to join administrative services and brighten the future of the nation. Additional deputy commissioner, Kumar, and Kundapur subdivisional officer, Charulata Somal, were present.
Zilla panchayat chief executive officer, Kanagavalli, who presided over the function, exhorted more and more girls to show interest in civil services and serve their state and country through selfless service.
Charulata Somal spoke about the preparations needed for the IAS examination. IAS officers, Venkataraj and Selvamani, gave tips about preparations for general paper 1 and 2. IAS officers, Chidananda, Senthil, and Rajendra and many other officials actively participated in the proceedings and educated the young to take interest in civil services.
