Mangaluru, Jan 12: A married woman was brutally murdered at Meenakaliya, Panambur here on the night of Monday January 12. The incident came to light on Tuesday January 13.
The deceased, Kalpana (25), was a coolie worker from Uttar Pradesh.

Police sources said that on the night of January 11, when Kalpana's husband Rajesh had been to work on night shift, she was assaulted with a sickle and clobbered with a heavy stone in the bathroom.
The incident came to light on Tuesday when Rajesh came from work and found Kalpana lying in a pool of blood.
Rajesh and Kalpana, both from UP, had got married recently and were staying in the city from four months. While Kalpana worked during the day, Rajesh, who is also a coolie worker at the railway yard, works on both day and night shifts.
Sources said that Rajesh has been taken for inquiry.
The body has been sent for post-mortem.
A case has been registered in Panambur police station.
