Beltangady, Jan 7: Accomplished Jain sage, Prasanga Sagara Muni Maharaj, delivered benedictory address at Ashiyana, Ujire, on Monday January 5. 'Life is short and transient like a water bubble. Therefore, we must make best use of this short opportunity provided to us,and achieve something unique,' he advised.
'Even after thousands of years, we recollect and follow the preachings of Gouthama Buddha, Mahaveer, Rama, Krishna, etc because of their extraordinary achievements. Scientists, writers, researchers, and artists too make our lives valuable. We hail a person and remember him through either his writings or his deeds. We should make use of words, time, and other means that are at our disposal to do something useful for the society. Even animals and birds earnestly follow the path of duty and nature as endowed upon them. Humans also should stick to the path of righteousness and duty-consciousness. Mass Bhajans, prayers, meditation, etc result in pooling of good virtues, which eventually result in peace and contentmentm' he explained.
'It is not important how many people we love. But it matters as to how many love us. We should be simple and selfless and serve everyone with open mind. Simple lifestyle and serving and protecting Sadhus and Sanyasis is the duty of every devotee,' he added.
The Muni will begin his journey from Ujire on Wednesday, and travel through Beltangady, Padangady, Venoor and Moodbidri. He will then move to Karkala, where he will participate in Mahamastakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali.
