Mumbai-Mangaluru bus service in trouble again?

Mangaluru, Jan 6: Mumbai- Mangaluru bus service which was in trouble for three days had resumed service only on Monday, January 5. Now with the protest held in Mangaluru in front of a bus operator, it looks the service is in trouble again.

CITU along with bus drivers plying from Mangalore-Mumbai organized the protest condemning the attack on bus driver VijayKumar at Kumta on January 1 allegedly the by the persons from owner's side.




Condemning the attack on the bus driver in front of Canara Pinto travel agency at Milagres here on Tuesday January 6, Vasanth Achary, CITU leader said " Bus driver Vijay Kumar was attacked in inhuman way. Later he was admitted to the hospital. Immediately after the incident bus service from Mangaluru-Mumbai was stopped. When we questioned about the incident with the bus owners. It came to know that the bus drivers are made to work for Rs 1250 for three days and also look after maintenance.The bus drivers also demand to increase the salary. Medical treatment cost should be reimbursed. It is the duty and responsibility to government to solve the problems of people."

On this occasion Sunil Kumar Bajal, DYFI leader Immthiyaz and others were present.

"Bus service to Mumbai has started. Buses to Mumbai have left today as usual" said the spokesperson from Anand travels.
