Kuwait, December 13: Indian Expatriates enjoyed a fabulous educational Get-Together function organized by Indian Muslim Association  (IMA) Khaitan Unit at Super-Eat Restaurant Auditorium on Friday  evening 8th December 2006 at Marqab, Kuwait City. This  educational evening with the topic “Religious Tolerance & National Integrity” provided an interesting moment  for elders as well as youngsters alike.

B.S. Sharafuddin, journalist and  speaker of the day in his inspiring keynote address said that,   “India is country of many religions which preach tolerance. However, it is an irony that some elements are spreading hatred in the name of religion and promoting mistrust and misunderstanding among the people .  While India is being distinguished as an upcoming economic power, it is important to maintain religious tolerance and human harmony in the society to reap the fruits of economic gains. Establishing the values promoted by the religion and practicing the teachings of tolerance is need of the hour. We don’t need any campaign to construct places of worships , but we definitely need an organized efforts to build bridges between hearts of the people.”

Guest of honor Joy Mundackatt, president of Idikki Association, Kuwait was very much pleased to discuss and voice his opinions on the topic “Religious tolerance & National Integrity”.  He said that if a person does not interfere into others rights of living : this is just tolerance and he pointed out that despite several diversities, there is unity among Indians.  He wished that dedicated religious scholars around the world should unite and help to abolish fanaticism and extremism and establish moderate teachings in all religions.

Audience participated quite actively in the question and answer session and several fruitful suggestions have been mutually discussed for maintaining peace and harmony among various communities.

Einul Huda, General Secretary of IMA delivered concluding presidential remarks. Hasan Yusuf compared the program and Mohammed Nasser Ali extended vote of thanks. Program started with recitation of verses of glorious Quran.  Vegetarian dinner was served at the end.

This get-together provided a homely atmosphere for the expatriates living in Kuwait and members from different Indian communities participated and appreciated the function.
