Schalke assistant coach injured by missile from stand


Berlin, Dec 14 (IANS): Sven Huebscher, Schalke's assistant coach, was injured by an object thrown from the stands that struck his head during his team's German Bundesliga match at home against Cologne.

Schalke sport director Horst Heldt revealed that Huebscher had suffered a cut from the missile which required stitches Saturday, reports Xinhua.

He also said that such missile throws were not acceptable and he hoped that the offender would be found.

Officials later said Heubscher was hit by a cigarette lighter in the 89th minute of the game, which was won 2-1 by Cologne.
