Smith and Clarke lead Australia to 517/7

Adelaide, Dec 10 (IANS): Captain Michael Clarke recorded his 28th Test century and Steven Smith smashed 21 boundaries for his unbeaten 162 to take Australia to a strong 517 for seven in 120 overs at stumps on the second day of the first Test match against India at the Adelaide Oval here Wednesday.

Smith and Mitchell Johnson (0) were at the crease when bad light forced the umpires to terminate the day's action. The light deteriorated rapidly after rain halted play twice in the day.
