Karwar, Dec 10: Fr Victor Crasta, formerly from the diocese of Belgaum and now belonging to the Karwar diocese completes 50 fruitful years in the dedicated service as a priest.
Born at Kajebail Taccode near Moodbidri of Mangalore diocese in a hardworking and deeply religious family, Fr Crasta had the rare and special privilege of being ordained during the 38th International Eucharistic Congress at Oval Maidan, Bombay in the august presence of the then Pope Paul VI on December 2nd, 1964.
Fr Crasta served in different parishes and sub stations in these fifty years in Belgaum and Karwar dioceses. He served at Our Lady of Rosary Church, Siddapura from 1965 to 1971. Then at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Guletgudda, he rendered his service from 1971 to 1976. After that Fr Crasta was transferred to Our Lady of Piety Church at Halga where he remained from 1976 to 1983.
Fr Crasta served at St Francis Xavier Church, Chandapur from 1983 to 1990 and at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church , Sunkeri, from 1991 to 1998.
He worked at St Anthonys Church , Mudkani from 1998 to 2003, at St Anne';s Church ,Yedoga,Haliyal from 2004 to 2008 and at Christ Light of the world Church, Madangiri from 2008 to 2014.
Goden jubilee thanksgiving mass will be celebrated on December 10, 2014 at Bishop's house, Karwar in the presence of family , relatives, friends, well wishers and former and present parishioners.
