Intra-city buses between towns above 40,000 population

Bengaluru,Dec 9: All towns above 40,000 population will be connected through intra-city bus service by March 2015, the Karnataka transport minister Ramalinga Reddy has revealed.

Speaking to the press, the minister also said the government has already started conducting the survey to know about which towns will qualify to get the proposed service.

The minister added that Rs 6 crore is being considered to set up dedicated bus terminus in each of these towns which are going to be connected by the intra-city bus service.

The minister also showed his displeasure on the KSRTC patent issue related developments. He said that the Karnataka government is ready to face the Kerala state road transport corporation in a legal battle.

The Kerala transport company with the same name KSRTC has been making losses and is not an efficient company like its Karnataka counterpart which also uses the same KSRTC name. Hence the Karnataka government decided to patent KSRTC name with which Kerala is unhappy.Kerala government has threatened the Karnataka government with legal action.
