Kalaburgi, Dec 2: A boy, who was reported to have been killed after being bitten by a mad monkey, was found after about a week, has been recovering from injuries. The boy's family members, who live in the town, confirmed that he has been showing steady progress.
Raju Thanakam, paternal uncle of the seven-year-old boy, Abhishek Thanakam, confirmed that the boy was recovering at the house of his maternal uncle at Naladurga village. He added that the boy would return to his house in the town by Tuesday.
There was information that the boy had been bitten and severely injured by a mad monkey. After providing initial treatment, he was shifted to Sholapur for advanced treatment. The doctor who had attended to him initially had said that the boy had died. This information had spread everywhere.
The chief conservator of forests of Kalaburgi had announced a compensation of Rs 5 lacs to the bereaved family of the boy. But when the forest official visited the family to condole the death of their son on Monday, he was surprised to learn that the boy was recovering, it is learnt.
