Kasargod, Nov 26: Relating to an incident in which an attempt to abduct a married woman, who had come into contact with her abductors through WhatsApp social media, police personnel from Badiadka station in the district have arrested two persons.
The arrested men are M A Aju (34), a native of Neyyantikara in Thiruvananthapuram, who is currently employed in cargo division of Mangalore Airport, and Vishnu (24), a MBA course student and friend of Aju, who hails from Tamil Nadu.
The above two persons have been accused of kidnapping a married woman who came in contact with the duo through WhatsApp. The woman is the wife of a person from Perla Bengatadka, presently employed in the Gulf region. She resides at Mangaluru.
Two men, who arrived by a car on Monday had kidnapped the above woman from near Perla. Some locals, who were witness to the crime, chased the car in which the lady was being forcibly taken away, and also called the police. When the car reached Vittal, police personnel of Vittal, who had prior information about the drama, and were lying in wait, took into possession the car and its occupants. They then handed over the vehicle, both the youth, and the woman, to Badiadka police.
Badiadka police, who questioned both the youth and the lady, took the alleged abductors into custody. They have been investigating the case.
