Kuwait Nov 10:  Kundapur Varado Welfare Association, Kuwait (KVWA) celebrated the "Children's Day" on Friday, 10th November, 2006 at Don Bosco School Hall, Salmiya, Kuwait.

Program commenced with an opening prayer led by Carol Martis and welcome song by the Committee members led by Ivan followed by lighting the candle by the President Nancy Menezes and the committee members.



The chief guests of the program Fr. Melvyn, John Fernandes and Juzer Ali were escorted to the stage and honoured with flower bouquets.  President Nancy Menezes welcomed the gathering followed by speech from chief guest Fr. Melvin.



David Lewis introduced Caroline F. Martis with an adopted pen name of Olivera Flavia, a budding poetess hails from Trasi, one of the most scenic places of northern part of South Kanara.  Incidentally she is also the sister of KVWA President Nancy Menezes. 



Gibba Kulshekar a prominent writer and poet released the most awaiting Anthology of Konkani short Poems "Sukha-Dukhachim Panam, Punn Mogachim" a dream release of Carol.  The book has 297 short poems written by Carol which are edited and published by Melvyn Rodrigues for Kavita Publications, Umikhan, Kulshekar- Mangalore.



Melroy D’ souza, a 10th standard student was honoured for his achievements.  The songs by Baby Venissa, Baby Lizina and Gration D’Souza,  Dances by KVWA committee members and prominent dance school Jovas XLNC entertained the crowd.  MC Merwyn Pereira and DJ Aryan’s fame Brayan, Kiran and Royston succeeded to keep the crowd well entertained with foot tapping music, games and lots of spot prizes.





After a sumptuous buffet lunch sponsored by Hotel Pearl Marzouk, Santa Clause entry reminded the forthcoming Christmas season. The program came to an end after different draws, novelty dance and vote of thanks by MC.
