Bengaluru: Man arrested for kidnapping his nephew

Bengaluru, Nov 16: K P Agrahara police have arrested a man for kidnapping his nephew.

Anand, 35 from Banaswadi is the person arrested.

Anand had served an 11years jail term in connection with a murder case and was released recently.

On November 10, on the pretext of buying ice cream, Anand lured his brother Sundar’s eight year old son Ganesh and took him away.

The parents, unable to locate their son, lodged a missing complaint.

The next day, on November 11, the parents got a call from Ganesh saying the boy had been kidnapped by him. Anand demanded a ransom of Rs 8 lakh from his own brother. He threatened to kill the boy if his demand is not met. 

On November 12, the police traced Anand to be in Poonamallee in Tamil Nadu. They went there and arrested him with rescuing the kidnapped boy.

During interrogation, Anand said that his parents had recently sold a piece of land and decided to divide the money among their grandchildren. He was against the decision and was constantly quarrelling with his parents and brother, demanding money. But they declined to pay him. Hence he kidnapped his nephew for money.

Anand a family man too, lived with his wife and three children in Banaswadi.

    May be the parents did the wrong decision means not to do such criminal act in tha Family.Somehow his criminal career has begonnen earlier.what a shame to his children and his wife.Thank God went everything good ,Police were in time to save the Boy.Who knows he would have made the Boy to suffer or do harm to him in a bad mood.
