Memorandum submitted to law minister by sand dealers

Mangaluru, Nov 13: Sand dealers led by district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai have reportedly submitted a memorandum to T B Jayachandra, Karnataka minister of law, justice and human rights, requesting him to clear the obstacles in the law related to sand mining in the district during the latter's visit to the district on Tuesday November 11.

Responding to the request, the minister visited the sand mining CRZ and non-CRZ areas near Falguni river in Gurupura and inspected them. He has assured that the problems faced by the sand dealers will be solved soon.

District sand dealers’ association president Chandraprakash Shetty, vice-president Saleem Ullal, Tumkur district Congress president Shafi Ahmed, secretary Chandrahas, directors A K Shekabba, Ashraf Garadi, A K Ashraf, Raviraj Permayi, and Umarabba Kannur were present.
