Chennai, Nov 11 (IANS): Actor Karthik Muthuraman says he was busily preparing himself to don the director's hat when K.V Anand-directed upcoming Tamil romantic-drama "Anegan" came his way.
He liked the film's script so much that he postponed his plans to direct.
"I had almost given up on acting and was writing a script, which I wanted to direct. That's exactly when I got a call from Anand for 'Anegan'. When he narrated the script, I wanted to be part of the film. I had to eventually postpone my idea to direct," Karthik told IANS.
The actor plays an interesting role, about which he doesn't reveal much.
"Anand has given me a wonderful role. I can't talk about it much but I can confidently say audiences will love it. I'm also thankful that he gave me an opportunity to act again because I felt the industry had totally forgotten me," he said.
Karthik is also willing to accept diverse roles, provided he's approached with interesting characters.
Also starring Dhanush, Amyra Dastur and Aishwarya Devan, "Anegan" is being readied for release soon.
