Bengaluru, Nov 11: 180 schools have been issued notices for not complying with safety and security measures as per requirement.

The court had said that action should be taken against school managements who do not follow safety and security measures at their schools prescribed by police. Now under IPC section 188, notices to as many as 180 schools have been sent, revealed K J George the home minister.

“The next step is registering cases against the schools and taking appropriate legal action. No matter how influential are the persons involved, the government will not compromise on safety and security of children,” George said.

“After the directives were drafted, sufficient time was given to school managements to introduce safety and security measures in school premises. The managements went to court on the matter asking for more time. The court allowed them two months. The two months are over now. As per the court order only, we have sent notices to the schools” George added.
