Chennai, Nov 11 (IANS): Upcoming Tamil supernatural thriller "Ra" will test audience's psyche, says actress Aditi Chengappa.
"I wouldn't call it a horror film per se. It's a supernatural thriller that will test the psyche of audiences. It's also something that hasn't been done before and I can vouch for that. It's filled with plenty of twists that are going to be impressive," Aditi told IANS.
Although not a fan of the horror or supernatural genre, Aditi says working on the film was "exciting".
"I don't watch horror films. I have a weak stomach when it comes to these things. But the makers requested me to listen to the script and then decide. When I heard half of the script, I was convinced it's not your average horror film," she said.
"I realized that I won't be encountering any demon. It was mostly psychological and that's interested me to be part of this project," she added.
Aditi admits there was eeriness in the air while shooting for the film, which is directed by Prabhu Yuvaraj.
"When you're shooting for such films, you can feel the eeriness around you. The lighting, contrary to romantic films, in aRa' was gloomy and dull. But it was very exciting and never scary because you're not alone," she said.
Featuring mostly newcomers, Aditi describes the experience of working with a young team was "impressive".
"When you're working with a team of newcomers, nothing is taken for granted. You want to put your hundred percent and that's what I think we really did. It's your first effort and you want to give it your best," she said.
"Moreover, it's not a big-budget film, so one has to be creative to get noticed. You realize you can do so much with so little when you feel like you don't have a choice," Aditi added.
Aditi also has Telugu period drama "Rudhramadevi" up her sleeve and a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
