Kasargod, Nov 10: Swach Bharath Abhiyan was organized under the leadership of Our Lady of Dolours Shrine, Bela. Fr Vincent D’Souza, Vicar Forane of Kasargod Deanery and Parish Priest of Bela Shrine presided over the inaugural programme held at Kattathangadi, Bela and in his address praised the citizens of Bela for showing special concern on waste management.

K N Krishna Bhat, vice-president of Badiadka Grama Panchayath, inaugurated the programme and said that one should take responsibility in managing the waste generated by oneself. Abdul Rahiman, member of Badiadka Grama Panchayath, Religious sisters, hundreds of parishioners and people of Bela people participated in the programme followed by the cleanliness drive.











On the occasion, Fr Vincent D’Souza read out the oath “My Waste - My Responsibility” to the gathering, in which the participants vowed to take responsibility of the waste. Mr Thomas D’Souza M.S., the Vice President of Parish Pastoral Parishad welcomed the gathering while the Secretary Mr. Roman D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Indeed this programme was a boon to create awareness in people to keep their surrounding clean and tidy.
