Kallianpur, Oct 20: The Milagres High School, Kallianpur is the first High School to be started in the rural area outside the taluk headquarters in the undivided DK district. It is all set to celebrate platinum jubilee in December 2006 under the leadership of correspondent Fr Marcel Saldanha and headmaster Paul Lobo.
The new building is being constructed as the present building is 75 years old. As part of the celebrations, a number of academic competitions are being held at the taluk level.
Inter-school quiz and elocution competitions were held in the tricentenary hall of the college. The Government High School Manoor, Kota bagged the first place and Vivek English High School bagged the second place in quiz.
Inter-school science model competitions and exhibition also were held in the tri-centenary Hall. Dr Rajalaxmi, an alumna of the high school inaugurated the competitions. HOD Physics Dr Gerald Pinto gave away the prizes. Kunjal High School stood first in the model competition.
