Udupi, Sep 17: The magnificent spiritual gala 'Sri Krishna Leelotsava', popularly known as 'Mosaru Kudike' and 'Vittal Pindi' were celebrated on the second day of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Wednesday September 19.
Sri Krishna Leelotsava comprises of the main events such as breaking of milk pots, signifying the childhood stories of Lord Sri Krishna. Rituals were held on the premises of Sri Krishna Math with religious fervour and devotion. Devotees gathered in large crowds around Car Street to witness the religious events which were an amalgamation of devotion and entertainment.
The programme comprised of various cultural and folk performances like 'Dollu Kunitha' as well as film dance and so on. The tiger dances with many troupes taking participating was an added attraction.
'Govinda Alare' by Sooryodaya Kreeda Mandal troupe from Mumbai was a crowd puller and the team performed at different venues in the city. The tiger dance troupes had their exclusive performances showcased at Rajangana on the occasion.
All the performances were held with the initiation of Sri Vishwavallabha Swami, Kaniyoor Math, Udupi.
