Dubai, Sep 24: A 14-member Indian Parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, will arrive in Bahrain on Thursday to meet Bahraini MP's inculding parliament chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani as well as Shura Council chairman Dr Faisal Al Mousawi and Bahraini MPs for discussions.
The delegation, which made a brief stop at Bahrain on Sunday morning on way to Athens, would be returning to Bahrain again to meet the officials for discussions on way back home.
Indian Ambassador Balkrishna Shetty told the Gulf Daily News, "the visit is important at a time when India has offered to train Bahrain's parliamentary secretariat staff, along with others from many Commonwealth countries, in New Delhi later this year." There would be a flurry of visits in the context of the forthcoming trip to India by Crown Prince and Commander-in-Chief Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa later in the year.
His visit would be followed by the first state visit to India by King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa early next year.
