Udupi, Jun 13: In one more road-crash on National Highway 17 at Ucchila near Padubidri here, a bicycle rider was killed when a car hit him on Monday June 12 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Hussainar (55), a resident of Polya near Ucchila. He was riding his bicycle towards the Ucchila bus stand when a Tata Indica car coming from Mangalore knocked him down.
As a result he sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Hi-tech Hospital here. He was later taken to KMC Hospital at Manipal. However, he succumbed to the injuries while on way to KMC.
Hussainar is survived by wife, 3 daughters and 3 sons. The engagement of his second daughter was to take place on July 2. Now Hussainar's death just a few days before the engagement of his daughter has pushed the entire family into deep sorrow.
The Padubidri police have booked a case in this regard.
