- Maheshwarappa Appointed new deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada
Mangalore, Jun 9: In an unexpected and sudden development Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Dr H V Parshwanath has been transferred. Maheshwarappa, an IAS officer has been appointed new deputy commissioner of the district.
Dr H V Parshwanath had taken charge as the deputy commissioner of the district on June 24, 2005 from the then DC Arvind Shrivastava. Ever since he had brought about several changes in administration. He had even taken certain stern steps to stop corruption in many government offices.
However, his sudden transfer has given rise to several questions. Though it is not a new phenomenon to see a new deputy commissioner every year, Dr H V Parshwanath's transfer even before completing one full year has raised several eyebrows. He has not yet been given new placement.
