Bangalore, Jun 9: Women's empowerment appears to be a hot subject these days. Especially when the subject comes for hot discussion within the four falls of seminars, study circles etc. but precious little is being done in official circles in any big way.

This being the case, the Bangalore police have begun provide employment to women in a segment predominantly regarded as a male domain - the the city road traffic management.

Taking the plunge into an hitherto unknown territory, these women seem to have taken up their duties right in earnest and proved their worth. They may appear tiny compared to the tough menfolk, but jobwise they appear to be saying 'Hum kisise se kam nahin...', trying to match their male counterparts. These pics clicked on Thursday, June 8 prove the point.

To begin with, they are said to be on casual contract basis, maybe the rules for the time being do not allow permanent employment. Depending on the merits of the case, they deserve confirmation of their jobs.

Certainly a point that should catch the attention of the police higher-ups.
