Subrahmanya, Jun 4: A vented dam erected near the Bacchanayaka Daivasthana in Yenekal village near here has collapsed in part following heavay rainfall.

The dam had been built at a cost of Rs 32 lac and was awaiting inauguration. The dam had been sanctioned after prolonged demand from the public.

Now that it has collapsed partially, there is fear of its being totally washed away unless suitable damage-control steps are taken, said nearby residents.
