Sharjah: EIFF hosts annual sports meet

Sharjah, Feb 27: The sports meet organized by Emirates India Fraternity Forum at Sharjah University Stadium on February 14 pulled a large crowd of spectators. 

Participants from all over UAE included a mix of athletes and teams from various states of India.

                 
 

The meet was inaugurated at 8 am by Anwar Sadath.  He called for unity and fraternity among athletes along with spirit of competition.  The meet was conducted under the leadership of Faisal and Irshad.
 
Karnataka Riders, Blue Challengers Kerala, Tamilnadu Strikers, Desert King India, Power Max Dubai and Falcon Abu Dhabi fielded their teams in different colours and the athletes showed high spirit of competition.  The stadium overwhelmed by the crowd witnessed tough completion in Football, Volleyball, Kabadi, Tug-of-war, Races and Relay Races.  Running commentary in English, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada also entertained the crowd.

Different sports events were held separately for women and children. Aliyar, was chief guest of the day, and he also distributed trophies and medals.

    Masha Allah , Emirates India Fraternity Forum has provided a good opportunity to the Expatiate, by such a massive sports meet in a disciplined manner. Participants colored T shirts, well arranged assembly, very limit guests, is fine to watch. Thanks to Daijiworld for covering the events with attractive photos. My sincere thanks to the Organizers and Volunteers to have put their maximum effort for arranging this sports meet.

    First of all "Congratulations" on the success of "2014 EIFF SPORTS MEET". It was a fantabulous, fun-filled day and am sure everybody enjoyed to the fullest with a positive sporting attitude. Hats off to all the people / volunteers sponsors behind this great event. Cheers!!!
