Mangalore, May 20: K Ramchandra Kamat who was the general manager of Corporation Bank has now been appointed Executive Director (ED) of Bank of India by the union government of India. He took charge on Friday May 19.
K Ramchandra Kamat hails from Kasargod. He completed his primary schooling from Madonna Convent School in Kasargod before completing his high school from BEM High School and college from Bhandarkars College at Kundapur.
Having served Corporation Bank for almost 30 years ever since he joined as trainee officer in 1977, he carries huge experience with him to Bank of India. During his service days in Corporation Bank, he had served well in the bank branches at Hubli, Kerala, Mumbai etc before he was promoted to the post of regional manager of collection and remittance division at the main branch in 1994.
In 1996 he was promoted to the post of Assistant General Manager and in 1999 he was appointed Deputy General Manager. He was appointed as head of Gujarat region. It was in the year 2002 that he was promoted to the post of general manager and was given the responsibility of Information and Technology and Integrated Risk Management division.
During his long service he has received many awards such as regional leadership award, super productivity award, super ordinate goal award etc for his excellent service.
