Bangalore, Apr 6: NBCLC is known all over the world for the outstanding contribution to the Church in India in the area of Inculturation.
In a multi-religious set-up like India, Christians need to feel that besides being truly so they are authentically Indians in every sense. They need to realize that their roots are from Indian soil.
NBCLC tries to present the church in an Indian form, adopting Indian art-forms in the related topics. Dance and music are two main art-forms through which "Good News" can be communicated to the world.
The presentation of Wednesday, April 5, started with a patriotic song 'I love my India' in dance form depicting the sentiments of Indian people. Through "Tarangam", the plate dance of Tamil Nadu in Bharata Natyam classical
dance, the emotions were expressed.
The programme was organized on April 5 to bid adieu to the participants of 'Art of Living' course conducted by NBCLC. It began with holy service, arranged in Indian Style. Fr Thomas D'Sa welcomed the audience. Prof Pushparajan, the chief guest spoke highly of the diversification steps taken by NBCLC under the able Director Rev. Fr. Thomas D'Sa. Program concluded with the introduction of the artistes.
Biblical theme of the "Good Shepherd" and the "Seed Song" were in classical Bharata Natyam style. The Punjabi Bhangra dance in folk style, was a dance expressing the joy after a bountiful harvest.
Nrityavani is a wing of communication and culture. 'Nritya' means dance and 'Vani' means voice or song. Through music and song, the Good News message is spread. Children receive their initial training in classical dance in Bharata Natyam style, keyboard, violin and vocal carnatic music. At the programme, young budding artists presented their talents in these art-forms.
