Panaji, Mar 23: The opposition benches on Thrursday raised a question mark over the investigations into the arrest of a Tehreeq-Ul-Mujaheeden terrorist and death of a Catholic priest alleging that the government has no control over the state administration.

Participating in the debate, the chief minister Pratapsingh Rane, however, rubbished opposition's claims and blamed media for publishing irrelevant reports.

"There is a questionmark on the exact date when terrorist was arrested and confusion about the date when accused in Fr Eusabio Ferrao's death were arrested. These are basic signs of guilty getting scot-free. These confusions would help accused get acquitted in the court," leader of opposition Parrikar stated on the floor of the house.

Parrikar raised question over the functioning of police machinery in the state. He pointed out that chief minister had declared arrest of the terrorist two days before the actual arrest shown by the police.

The chief minister later replying in the house stated that there was no confusion over the arrest of these accused and blamed media for publishing irrelevant reports. "I never spoke to any journalist. Some newspapers in Goa are good in flying kites," contended the chief minister.
