New Delhi, Oct 10 (IANS): Deploring the murder of Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr legislator Haji Aleem's wife Rehana Chaudhary, Delhi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said law and order in the capital has worsened.
"Cases of rape, murder, chain-snatching, eve-teasing are on the rise. Drunkards, knifers, unsocial and bad characters are roaming freely on Delhi roads with no fear of law-enforcing agencies," BJP leader Vijay Jolly said in a statement Thursday.
"If elected MLAs and their families are victims of violence, then imagine the plight of the common Delhi citizens," Jolly added.
Rehana Chaudhary, 40, wife of Bahujan Samaj Party legislator Aleem, was killed Wednesday at her New Jafrabad home in east Delhi, while her husband was away for Haj pilgrimage, police said. She was knifed at least 10 times and then shot.
