Congress mocks AAP over Jan Lokpal bill

New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS): The Delhi Congress Tuesday ridiculed Aam Adami Party (AAP) over its promise to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill, saying the AAP lacked even administrative understanding as passing the bill is not within the state government's purview.

"AAP does not know A, B, C, D of administration. Passing Jan Lokpal Bill is not under the purview of Delhi assembly. It is a matter of the central government," state Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said at a press conference here.

He warned people to be aware of such "false" promises by the AAP.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said his party would form the next government in Delhi and vowed to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill after his party winds the assembly polls.

The Jan Lokpal was proposed by anti-graft activist Anna Hazare in 2011.
