Mangalore, Mar 6: A Bangalore-bound Air Deccan flight was cancelled on Sunday March 5, after a bird hit the flight at an altitude of 1,000 metres soon after the flight took from the Bajpe airport here.
The flight developed some technical snag after a bird hit it after taking off from the airport. The pilot immediately decided to land back at the Bajpe airport to avoid any further danger.
This effectively meant that Bangalore bound passengers had to postpone their journey by a day. Since Air Deccan offers the cheapest airfare to Bangalore, the passengers could not be sent by any other flight. The Airport sources said that the flight could take off on Monday March 6 after the technicians from Bangalore come down and repair the technical snag.
This is for the first time that such problem was faced by any flight taking off from the Bajpe airport.
