Panaji, Feb 25 (8-15 pm): It was a riot of colours, fun and fiesta when colourful carnival floats moved on the Panaji's street in the carnival float parade organized by state tourism department.

The float parade was flagged off by tourism minister Dr Wilfred D'Souza and they traveled 3 kilometres distance on D B Bandodkar before culminating at Kala Academy in Panaji city.

Though the organizers had  made it clear that no commercial floats would encouraged during the parade, this year, the Kingfisher, Honda and various other brands made their presence in the float.

Around 50 floats participated in the parade, which went for almost four hours. According to the organizers around 50,000 people dotting the Bandodkar road witnessed the parade.

King Momo's float led the parade and during the kick off King Momo ordered decree of 'Eat, drink and be merry' for the people.

The three-day long festival will see various entertainment programmes organized across the state.
