Mangalore, Sep 19: MLA J R Lobo, along with other concerned officials visited the Kankanady Market and received grievances from the shop keepers and vendors about existing problems on Wednesday September 18.
He later assured the market users of solving the issue soon and also directed the officials to take proper steps to ensure that all the issues are resolved.
Speaking to the media, Lobo said that the market lacks cleanliness. “Another prime issue are the leaking roofs that have been creating major trouble, mainly during rainy seasons. Fish and vegetables have been sold together in this market; there are no separate divisions, which have to be constructed. A new market building will be constructed and the blue print for this will be ready and released within two months,” he added.
He further visited the spot opposite the market where rainwater gets collected on the roadside, inspected the spot, and urged the officials to implement a permanent solution to this problem.
Naveen D’Souza, T K Sudhir, Karunakar Shetty, Krithin, Jayakar Samartha, and other officials were present at the meet.
