Islamabad, Sep 17 (IANS): Islamabad police arrested the person behind the killing of Pakistan's former minister for minorities affairs Shahbaz Bhatti, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
The killer, identified as Hammad Adil, was also involved in the Eid-ul-Fitr attack on a mosque, the APP quoted a police spokesman as saying Monday.
According to the accused, he along with Tanveer and Omer Abdullah made the plan to kill Shahbaz Bhatti.
They used a car and AK-57 weapons to execute the plan.
The assailants gathered at a park near Shahbaz Bhatti’s house around 7.30 a.m. that fateful day in March 2011.
Around 8.30 a.m., as soon as Bhatti left his house, they stopped his car by blocking its way and opened fire on him.
They also dropped pamphlets at the site of the incident.
